Turkey again recorded a record daily increase in cases of coronavirus

Turkey again recorded a record daily increase in cases of COVID-19 since may, RIA Novosti reported, citing data from the country’s Ministry of health.

Over the past 24 hours, the number of people infected with coronavirus has increased by 1642, and 49 patients have died. “1,211 patients have been cured today, 248,087 in total,” said Fahrettin koja, head of the country’s health Ministry.

On September 2, koja said during a press conference that Turkey is undergoing the second peak of the first wave of a new type of coronavirus pandemic. According to the head of the Ministry of health of the Republic, “the pandemic has intensified and continues.” The reasons for this situation, he called wedding ceremonies and failure to observe caution on holidays. At the same time, koja assured that the situation in the country as a whole is under control.

The highest rates of new cases of coronavirus per day and deaths from it since may and June have been recorded in the country several times in recent days. The largest number of people infected with the coronavirus was recorded in Ankara and Istanbul, and there is an increase in Central Anatolia and the South-East of the Republic.
