US to join with allies for sanctions against Russia over Navalny case

The US is working to impose sanctions on those in Russia who are involved in the case related to the hospitalization of Alexey Navalny. This was stated at a briefing by White house press Secretary kaley Mcenany, RIA Novosti reports.

“We are working with our allies and the international community to bring to justice those in Russia who are to blame for this,” she said, adding that it may be about financial restrictions.

Earlier, us Senator and member of the international Affairs Committee Robert Menendez called on the administration of US President Donald trump to impose sanctions against Russia because of the situation with Navalny. He said that the presidential administration should use the US law on the control of chemical and biological weapons and the prohibition of their use from 1991. According to Menendez, the statement of the German Cabinet points to the involvement of the Russian government “in another brazen chemical attack against its own citizens.”
